I wish I was creative enough to be able to get everything done that needed to be done. 2 more weeks and I graduate so that means I have more time on my hands.

A busy week means that most of my challenges will be hard to meet, especially the sleep challenge.

Just learned that you can go back and check in for some of the days that you might have missed. Great for those that get to unplug over the weekend!
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Simplicity Needs Vs. Wants
How is creativity a necessary ingredient for practicing simplicity?

sometimes what we consider the easiest option isn't always the simple option. Using creativity can allow us to come with something that might work in more than one way.

How do you practice self care?

My self care comes in the form of reading, taking a bath and having quiet time.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Health Know My health
How do you deal with the physical and emotional stress of the big problems we face? How can you help others cope?

    Lindsey Soltan's avatar
    Lindsey Soltan 4/05/2021 7:43 AM
I usually just push myself to move foward, when things get too bad I talk it through with someone. Divide and conquer if needed.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Energy Online Energy Audit
What most interested or surprised you about your own energy footprint? What changes did you make or will you make?

    Lindsey Soltan's avatar
    Lindsey Soltan 4/05/2021 7:40 AM
We had an energy audit done on our house not too long ago. The biggest issue we had is the doors had lost some of the seals. This needs to be replaced.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Waste Go Paperless
Reducing your paper mail can reduce mental clutter as well as physical waste -- by reducing what is coming in, you can reduce what is going into the recycling bin too. How does it make you feel? What is the next step you will take to reduce your waste?

I hate getting mail that I know I will end up throwing away. We put most of the mail we get in a bin for our fireplace. It allows us to destroy the items and gives us what we need to start a fire if needed. Most of our bills are paperless.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Waste Use a Reusable Water Bottle
While water bottles are needed for health and safety in certain places, we can do more to reduce the unnecessary use of them. What are the barriers to you using reusable bottles and tap water instead of bottled water? How could you make this a permanent habit?

    Lindsey Soltan's avatar
    Lindsey Soltan 4/05/2021 7:31 AM
I am not a fan of tap water but I already do use reusable water bottles and instead of buying bottled water bottles for the family, we have a subscription to ozarka. They deliver 5 gal jugs of water each month.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Waste Use a Reusable Mug
Maybe you've heard how good it is to switch from a single use coffee cup to a reusable one, but it's just hard to make the switch. What stands in your way of making this a habit? By identifying the challenges, you can begin to work through them to have better success in taking this action. Knowing the difference you are making, how does it make you feel?

I already do use reusable cups. The only thing that I use that is not reusable is a straw and paper plates.
