Eat Mindfully
I will eat all of my meals without distractions, e.g., phone, computer, TV, or newspaper.

Support Native Communities
I will use the resource links provided below and spend 30 minutes learning about the native populations that lived in my area prior to colonization, and what I can do to support those that still exist.

REFLECTION QUESTIONCommunity LEARN ABOUT TRANS, FEMME, AND NONBINARY EXPERIENCESHow is equality for trans, femme, and nonbinary people important to a just and sustainable society?
Stephanie Levin 4/14/2021 4:50 PMPeople in the Vox article were saying they often felt vulnerable, dealing with social anxiety after coming out. I think it is important for everyone to feel welcome at Eco-Rep events and in conversations about sustainability. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONCommunity Support Businesses Owned by People of ColorA recent Keen Independent Research Foundation study found that Minority Businesses Enterprises (MBEs) are more likely to have difficulties in receiving loans or city contracts. In what ways can you work to address systemic racism like that demonstrated in this study?
Stephanie Levin 4/09/2021 7:56 AMBy purchasing produce from BIPOC-owned sustainable farms
By reading about the experiences of MBEs in books, articles, etc
By learning to recognize subtle biases that we may have in our daily lives/conversations -
REFLECTION QUESTIONSimplicity Eat MindfullyMindful eating is healthier for us than eating with distractions. How do your eating experiences differ when practicing mindfulness?
Stephanie Levin 4/05/2021 5:42 PMSince starting the Eco-Challenge I have been eating all my meals without my phone or computer. However, I am finding that I eat very fast and I don't spend much time at the table, because I am still distracted, thinking about what's on social media, etc. This month I hope to focus on eating slower and savoring my food because I think that is a part of mindful eating as well. -
