REFLECTION QUESTIONHealthHow does/can practicing gratitude keep you centered and motivated to work for a better world?
Daniela Kleinfeldt 4/14/2021 5:31 AMThis action item was the hardest one for me. I started on Monday and realized how it helps me the day on a positive note. I've also started to incorporate it to my workouts, as a reminder that my body is capable of great things. I've very much enjoyed doing this and regret how much I put it off. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONSimplicitySocial media can keep us connected with loved ones, make us laugh, and help us to learn new things. It can also create echo chambers and take more time than we realize or intend to give. After completing this action for a few days, how do you feel? What do you notice?
Daniela Kleinfeldt 4/14/2021 5:24 AMI've noticed that I'm very hard on myself because I follow all of these fitness accounts where people look amazing, it used to take a massive toll on my mental health. Now that I've been working on working out FOR HEALTH and not to compare myself with unrealistic standards, I feel a lot happier and relaxed. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONCommunityWhat is one thing you can do to help your community become more sustainable?
Daniela Kleinfeldt 4/14/2021 5:17 AMSome campaigns are very impactful, for instance the new Animal testing has had a lot of attention. I think communities should try to do the same about water, electricity, recycling. Impactful messages can make a change. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONHealthHow does eating more fruits and vegetables and less meat positively affect yourself, other people, and our planet?
Daniela Kleinfeldt 4/09/2021 6:41 AMYes, the fact that meat production is one of the highest contributors to greenhouse gases so it's an easy decision to reduce my consumption and eat organic fruits and vegetables -
REFLECTION QUESTIONWasteWhile water bottles are needed for health and safety in certain places, we can do more to reduce the unnecessary use of them. What are the barriers to you using reusable bottles and tap water instead of bottled water? How could you make this a permanent habit?
Daniela Kleinfeldt 4/08/2021 7:57 AMHaving water bottles accessible anywhere you go is a huge factor to why I haven't been brining my own reusable water bottle everywhere. It boils down to laziness. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONWasteMaybe you've heard how good it is to switch from a single use coffee cup to a reusable one, but it's just hard to make the switch. What stands in your way of making this a habit? By identifying the challenges, you can begin to work through them to have better success in taking this action. Knowing the difference you are making, how does it make you feel?
Daniela Kleinfeldt 4/08/2021 7:55 AMI think what stands in the way is being too lazy to wash my reusable mug after work. Everyone is tired towards the end of the day and sometime I can't bring myself to rinse it out so it's ready the next morning. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONHealthConsider how many hours of sleep you get now. How would you like to shift your sleep patterns? What are you finding works for you to be successful in this action?
Daniela Kleinfeldt 4/08/2021 7:54 AMYes, I have been implementing a "slow down" routine where I read for 30 minutes instead of scrolling on my phone, meditate, and do some breathing exercises. This has helped me fall asleep quicker. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONEnergyHow is electricity generated where you live? How does it impact the environment, animals, and humans?
Daniela Kleinfeldt 4/08/2021 7:51 AMAfter a bit of research, I found out that PA is one of the top states that generates electricity using biomass resources.
