I will de-clutter, clean, and donate or recycle unneeded items in my home or dorm room.
Simplicity
Work-Life Balance
I will not work more than 8 hour days each day to practice work-life balance.

At least 30% of crops and 90% of flowering plants rely on pollinators to produce fruit. I will spend 35 minutes researching which plants support local native pollinators and plant some in my yard or local community garden.
Waste

Waste
RESEARCH LOCAL WASTE SITES
I will spend 20 minutes finding out where landfills and/or toxic waste sites are situated in my region and which communities are most impacted by these sites.
Energy
Heat and Cool Naturally
I will naturally heat and cool my house, office, or dorm room by opening or closing my windows, curtains, and blinds, and by using fans.
Energy
Switch to Cold Water
I will switch to washing my clothes in cold water, saving up to 133 lbs of CO2 a month and 1,600 lbs of CO2 over the course of the next year.
Energy
Turn it off
I will keep lights, electronics, and appliances turned off when not using them.
Waste
Choose Two-Sided Printing
I will save up to .21 lbs (.09 kg) of paper per day by switching from one-sided printing to two-sided when I have to print documents.

REFLECTION QUESTIONWaste RESEARCH LOCAL WASTE SITESIn what neighborhoods or areas of your region are landfills or other waste sites located? Which communities are most affected by these locations?
Marissa Biundo 4/06/2021 12:06 PMI found out about a Superfund site nearby to my house. It is actually a wildlife refuge that I have been to many times as a child. There is a committee trying to continue the clean-up and they meet monthly. I might look into joining or helping out the cause if they have volunteer opportunities available!
