    Simplicity Less Screen Time
    What did you notice in implementing this challenge? Was it hard to choose other activities over screen time? How did you decide to spend your time?

    I thought this challenge would have been hard at first because so much of our lives now are filled with screens, but I surprisingly found it easy to find other things to do. I decided to spend some time reading, solving an old word search book, doing some chores, and playing some board games. I think that sometimes we forget about other activities because we get lost in our screens and it is really nice to give our eyes a break.

    Kathleen Dean Moore says that a sense of gratitude leads to a sense of moral obligation. Do you agree? How can we cultivate a sense of gratitude as individuals, and as a society?

    I do agree with Moore's statement. I think that as individuals it is our natural instinct to feel thankful when something nice is done for us or we are provided with something. There are definitely times where things might get taken for granted though, or we might not realize how much something really means to us.

    I can not believe that it is already the last day! I am so glad I participated in the challenge as it has helped me notice some of the smaller things in life and to really take time and reflect. I have learned a lot about nature, my community, and myself while having fun and enjoying my surroundings.

    I can incorporate other personal values like spending time with loved ones and nature into my exercise routine by exercising outside and getting people to join me. For example, I might go for a bike ride with my siblings or play a sport in the backyard.

    I get about eight hours of sleep now, which is actually pretty good. I find that in order to be successful in getting enough sleep you need to be consistent in the times you wake up and go to bed.

    I believe that electricity is powered by coal where I live, but I have noticed more people installing solar panels. The coal can negatively impact the environment with pollutants.

    Other easy things I could do to save energy and reduce my environmental footprint are make sure that I unplug electronics or appliances when I am done with them and use more power strips.

    Some human activities that impact the health of water systems are carbon emissions, pollution, and overfishing. To improve the health of water systems, I can continue taking five minute showers, take cooler showers, and wash my laundry in cold water.

    How do you experience your neighborhood or city differently when walking instead of driving?

    When walking instead of driving, you are able to take things in a lot slower and more easily experience the world around you. By going on walks, I have been able to notice things about my neighborhood that I had never realized were there before.
