Good job team! Even though we lost to CCM we should all be proud of the impact that we have made in our community! Thank you for taking a small time out of your day to help the earth and your community be a little bit more cleaner.

Nature Go for a Daily Walk
How do you experience your neighborhood or city differently when walking instead of driving?

    Parker Heberlig's avatar

By walking around, I can see how peaceful my neighborhood is and just how calm and quiet it is. I really don't take that many walks but it is just so relaxing to actually see how peaceful my neighborhood is. There is no loud cars or people yelling at each other. Besides some dogs barking and some lawnmowers mowing, it is just peaceful. Watching the birds swoop down and land in the grass to eat insects is calming. So is watching the ants that are on the sidewalk run for their lives as a walk. Walking in my neighborhood is just so relaxing and you can just see how great it is to experience it in the outdoors!

I agree with you that everything is calm and peaceful when your walking rather than driving. I feel like I have noticed things about my neighborhood that I hadn't noticed before like about the houses and the plants and some of the birds that fly by. Weather I was walking by myself or with a family member, I think it gave me a decent chance to reflect on a lot too.

What would you like to invest more time in reflecting on?

    Parker Heberlig's avatar
    Parker Heberlig 4/20/2021 6:56 AM
I would just like to take more time in reflecting where this world is headed towards. With all of this craziness happening in the world right now like a pandemic, where is this world going. Each day there just seems to be something terrible that happens. This stuff bothers me and it is just calming to just think of solutions to these problems and just wondering what will happen if these problems don't get fixed, what could the outcome be?

    Waste Compost Food Waste
New to composting? Be sure to check out the action resource links to learn tips and more about it. As you transition from throwing food away to composting, what do you notice about how much you are tossing? How will you use your compost once it is ready?

    Parker Heberlig 4/20/2021 6:52 AM
I notice that I throw a lot of food scraps into the compost. If it is just an egg shell or a meal that I just didn't like, the compost piles up quickly. I have been composting for many years now. We usually use the compost as a fertilizer for out garden that we will be planting soon. It's just so cool to think that a banana peel can help the environment is so many different ways. I encourage everyone to start composting because it is a simple step that leads to a big positive outcome.

Waste Learn About & Practice Sustainable Fashion
How can you express your personality, creativity, and values in ways that don't require fast fashion or buying more clothes and accessories?

    Parker Heberlig's avatar
    Parker Heberlig 4/20/2021 6:46 AM
Just be you! There is no reason to go buy something to make you look cool or fancy. All of us have some sort of creative side that doesn't need to be expressed through what we wear. You can show your creative side in the actions that you do everyday. Just like your personality. You don't need to go buy something to show the whole world what your personality is. Express your personality through the actions you do. JUST BE YOU, that is the lesson to be learned from this action. Clothes won't make you look any cooler. The thing that will make you cool is the actions you make and again just being yourself.
