  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Simplicity Go For A Daily Walk Outside
Fresh air and movement are good for our entire being and can help us think more clearly and creatively. How does taking a walk each day affect yourself and/or your work?

I feel stronger, more relaxed, and revived. It's easy to forget how much we all need a break from work or whatever is going on around us.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Simplicity Less Screen Time
What did you notice in implementing this challenge? Was it hard to choose other activities over screen time? How did you decide to spend your time?

It's never too hard to find other activities since I'm on a computer all day for work. I love to read, exercise, spend time walking outside, and tending to our yard and garden.  Our family also loves board games so we do this quite a bit.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Food Plant an Herb Garden
Consider the ways you can garden: a plot of land? a patio container? hanging basket? windowsill gardens? What would work best for your living situation and lifestyle?

I grow fruits, veggies and flowers in patio containers at our house. It's much easier to maintain and keeps them away from most critters (although not groundhogs who have knocked them over).
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Energy Power Down the Computer
What are other easy things you could do to save energy and reduce your environmental footprint?

Turning off lights, computers, monitors which are the biggest items left on at our house.  We also use programmable thermostats which help to not run more cooling/heating than what we need when we typically aren't here or asleep.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Food Weekly Meal Planning
An average American throws out about 240 lbs of food per year. The average family of four in the US spends $1,500 a year on food that they throw out. Does this surprise you? Where would you rather use this money?

It doesn't surprise me at all. My family has a way to go with reducing our food waste. I have found what helps is to plan meals and freezing items before they go bad. I would much rather use that money for vacation!
