  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Nature Join An Outdoor Project
How well do you know the area you stay in -- whether your hometown or your campus community? In what ways is a deep knowledge of your surroundings -- known as a 'sense of place' -- important to you?

Stay close to your community, be apart of the system, this keeps your community in check. The more you know about your area the better you are to help sustain a positive ECO friendly area.

  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Community Support Native Communities
Indigenous speaker and activist Winona LaDuke says that, "most indigenous ceremonies, if you look to their essence, are about the restoration of balance — they are a reaffirmation of our relationship to creation. That is our intent: to restore, and then to retain balance and honor our part in creation." Why is balance important to sustainability?

Being a small part of the Navajo tribe has always sparked my curiosity as to how they kept balance in their tribe and survival. The readings I have found have been very inspirational.
